Maria Vlandi was born in Athens in 1952.

She took drawing lessons at the studio of Artists Hatzinicoli – Sarafianos.

In 1976, she graduated from Academy of Fine Arts, Rome (painting) and in 1978 from the Athens School of Fine Arts, Athens (ceramics).
